Professional and confidential care to help address a variety of concerns, including emotional, behavioral, and relational issues.
I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Washington and then my Masters of Arts in Psychology and a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from the California Schools of Professional Psychology. My theoretical orientation is in the practice of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy which is an evidenced based treatment for a number of different mental health conditions. I have also studied and integrate techniques of Existential Therapy, Family Dynamics, Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic theory, Behaviorism and Client Centered Humanistic therapy. As part of my training, I accumulated more than 3500 hours of clinical experience working with many different populations.
I have years of experience working as a general provider for psychological services and have provided effective evaluation and care to many individuals. I worked for 6 years at a large group practice before taking the leap to become an independent practitioner. For over 8 years, I have managed my own private practice. I have demonstrated capacity in providing care for conditions that will often improve through weekly individual psychotherapy. There are a variety of conditions I have worked with such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, adjustment disorder, panic, grief/loss and others. My experience also includes providing couples counseling for a range of concerns from pre-marital counseling, infidelity, sexual concerns, disengagement, hostility or even facilitating divorce through an honest and open process.
Many of these clients also present with underlying conditions such as trauma, depression, panic and anxiety. I have successfully applied the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to help these clients heal. In addition I have worked with the parents, spouses and family members of these clients to see how the familial dynamic could assist in the process of recovery.
